Milwaukee To Hold "Fest Fest"

By Newman
The Summerfest grounds on Milwaukee's lakefront have, for years, been host to Milwaukee's summer festivals with Summerfest itself, which wrapped up last Sunday, being the biggest and most important of them. However, there are also many smaller, mostly ethnic festivals held on the grounds, including Polish Fest, Festa Italiana, German Fest, African World Festival, Irish Fest, Pride Fest, Labor Fest, Arabian Fest, etc., etc., so on and so forth. However, this week, festival organizers announced that they would honor the festival tradition itself with its own festival, named "Fest Fest."

Fest Fest, which will occupy the gaping hole in the festival schedule between the end of Irish Fest on August 16 and the start of Mexican Fiesta on August 21, will be a celebration of the thousands of recent parolees, W-2 welfare recipients, and teenagers desperate for summer jobs that work at the festivals, as well as Milwaukee's rich history of festivals themselves, said festival chairwoman and Milwaukee psuedo-celebrity Bo Black. The festival will offer such Milwaukee-specific foods as cheese, bratwurst, and, of course, plenty of beer. As always, there will be plenty of crappy local bands playing at the various stages to drunken festival-goers too smashed to tell the difference between good and bad music, and the usual country acts that people somehow pay $15 to see play at the Marcus Amphitheater.

Reports that there is a party in M. F. Luder's pants and that we are all invited could not be confirmed at press time.
