director:
Jonny McIntyre
[[the band is on a median strip in the middle of a motorway In England. Thom is in a feather boa, dressed like a glam rocker. The rest of the band is similarly dressed, but not as glittery. There's a cigarette advertisement behind them. The camera is straight on the band, and far enough away to get a full view of both sides of the road. The cars are almost at a stand still, it's a very bad traffic jam. The band plays, getting into the music very much.]]
Here it comes here it comes
I can feel the hills exploding
[[inside a large station wagon:
a man and woman are arguing heatedly. You cannot hear what they're saying, and there are no subtitles. They have two boys in the back of the car, who are staring out of the car at the band, obviously used to their parents bickering. The woman says something with a smug look on her face. The husband looks at her, astonished, as though she found something out he was keeping from her. The car swerves on the road.]]
Grass is green at the edge of the bubble
[[focus back on the band.]]
Beautiful gets into beautiful trouble
They all seem to fall out of the sky
And come down on you
[[camera becomes intent on Jonny]]
Oh baby, burn
[[back inside the car:
the parents are quiet now, but will not look in each other's direction. One boy takes out a rock magazine]]
Useless rockers from England
[[The boy begins looking through pictures of bands with piercings, green hair, and leather. The title of most articles include words like, "wasted" "sex" "homosexuality" "heroin" and "fame". The boy looks at a picture of a man surrounded with people who are paying much attention to him. He looks up at his parents who are silent, and back to the adored musician.]]
[[back on the band, now on Ed and Colin who are standing silently in dark sunglasses, with sneers on their faces.]]
And come down on you
Oh baby, burn
[[into the car:
The mother reaches over to her husband and casually removes a slip of paper from his breast pocket. The husband tries to stop her, but he takes control of the car instead, and waits for his wife to read it. It's a hotel room number with the name "Jessica" writen in cursive. The wife scowls and crumbles it up. She looks at her husband and he slowly looks at her. the two children are now both reading the magazine and smiling. They're focusing on a cigarette add with the previous musician smoking the brand. The wife begins crying softly. The husband ignores this, and tries to grab the slip of paper back. As he's reaching over to her, a car in front of them suddenly puts on it's breaks, and the station wagon crashes into it. The camera cuts away just before the impact.]]
[[back to the band. The car crash is still slightly visible. The song ends and Phil, Ed, Colin, and Jonny walk away quickly. Thom stands in his place until the mechanical laughter ends. He looks at the wreck, smiles slyly and follows the band.]]
